Bio: Ricardo J. Ares Julia was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in December 2, 1993. He grew up in Rio Grande, P.R. until he moved to Aguadilla in 2011 to study a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus (UPRM). During his fourth year of study he got a certificate in Solar Energy Systems, due to his desire to learn more about photovoltaic solar energy. Which he believe to be the most eco-friendly energy source for the future. Currently he is part of an undergraduate research program with Dr. Eduardo I. Ortiz-Rivera developing a Solar Simulator with LED technology, his role in this investigation is the mechanical design and construction. With this special project he will be able to combine his studies with his interest in renewable energy.
